My complete jigsaw

My theme for the 12x12 Jigsaw Swap was "Time" - and time went really slowly waiting for it to get here. I LOVE it - everyone put so much effort into it.

Here is the completed jigsaw.

Yet another swap

I have been a bad blogger lately, but I have an excuse - really I do. We went to Israel for a couple of weeks and it was HOT HOT HOT!!! More about that in a different post.
In the meantime I took part in a Shape-it-up Mini Book Swap. I made it for Jo who said that she mostly takes outdoor pictures of her two boys so I tried to make it very boyish and adventurous. Hope she likes it.

My Very First Minibook

Well, I've done my very first minibook using my shiny new pink Bind It All. I loved doing it and I think I've found a new obsession in mini books.

I recently went on an annual retreat for mothers of special needs children. The retreat is organised by two local women who also have special needs children and they put so much effort into making everything perfect. I made two minibooks, one for each of the organisers as a thank you for their wonderful work.

The theme of the retreat was "connections" and the heart is cut out from the small welcome book given to each participant.

Welcome pack that was in each participant's room.

Second day of the retreat came out on a special day in Jewish Calendar when it is traditional to build bonfires and have live music. We had live musical entertainment by candlelight. It was beautiful.

One evening we had a sort of "open mic night" where some of the mothers put on sketch shows or other forms of entertainment - it was hilarious.

Picture of the beach with the "Footprints in the sand" poem underneath, which I thought was very appropriate.

Couldn't resist taking a pic of this beautiful sunset.

Organisers waving us off on the last day.

Inside back cover - I made a small envelope and then wrote a small note on a sheet of notepaper which we all received as part of our welcome pack.

I packaged up each book in tissue paper and decorated with ribbons and flowers.

Last Page

I finally finished the last page of the Chunky Fat Book Swap. This is Jenny's page and the theme is "transport". I didn't want to do the typical planes, trains and automobiles so I went for "the magic carpet". I really like how this one came out. I think it's my favourite.
